Raindrop Wedding

bride with groom and umbrella black and whiteA quick blog to show a fun-loving couple Lauren & Mike as they smiled through the raindrops falling on their wedding.  This couple have been dating for six years and most of their friends and family were able to travel to the beautiful wedding.

Natalie Good of A Good Affair wedding & event planning company was able to secure a gorgeous clear tent for the outdoor wedding.  Draped with small bulbs and a plethora of gorgeous flowers from a family friend’s shop, the venue became even more intimate and romantic.

The bride stopped during the ceremony to fix her groom’s tie–a sweet gesture as she works for Friar Tux who provided all the tuxedos for the groomsmen, dads and ringbearer.

The Viceroy is a beautiful boutique hotel located in Palm Springs.  More on Lauren & Mike’s gorgeous wedding soon.

Flower Fields and Flower Girls

These flower girls joined me for a day of sundresses and flower fields.  The little one dared to stand where the older girls wouldn’t go.  I so enjoyed their sunny smiles and laughter–I had been meaning to do a Spring flower shoot for far too many years!

Family Shoot

Anniversary coupleCiaraPhotographers are always busy shooting, meeting clients, and processing images on their computers.  Sometimes blogging takes a back seat to shooting….Or at least that’s what I told my colleague Jaime of Capturing Moments last night.  So, Jaime, here’s a quick blog post about this wonderful family shoot I did in April.  It took about six months to plan because the family includes 24 people!  We finally managed a free day of no soccer games, no ballet classes, no work and the entire family in town at the same time the day before Easter.  I’m going to remember this is a good time for scheduling families next year!   See four sisters who love each other very much, a couple who have been married for 50 years!  The original family and then the grandkids (the only way to get people over 50 to consent to photos: bribe them with their grandchildren!).  Jaime, thanks for encouraging me to restart my blog!

Charlotte

A brand new baby, just in time for Christmas!  Charlotte is the first child for 2007 Bride Heather and her husband Mike.

Like most newborn shoots, we try to keep the baby comfortable while getting a look at her.  Charlotte was most comfortable in her diaper and swaddled in her blanky.

She appears to be either a gal at the spa, or a very cute burrito.  What do you think?

Mercy

My dear friend is just about to earn her degree from San Diego State’s Nursing program.  We had a chance to catch up recently and during one of our visits she consented to a quick photo session.

Even when you know the photographer, it takes a few frames for people to relax and get comfortable being in front of the camera.

Samuels Family

After the wedding season I love to photograph families for the holidays.  I’ve known Lisa since she was a small girl who lived down the street from my dear Aunt in San Diego.

Lisa has since grown into the lovely wife and mother you see here.  Hannah, Ethan and new addition Moriah made for a lovely Hannakuh card with their dad Brian.

Grandparents Erica and Joel escaped our photo session this year—so you will be sure to see them here next year!

Christie and Scott August 8, 2009

Christie and Scott are college sweethearts and dated forever before tying the knot on August 8th this past summer.  The svelte Christie wore a white gown with pink accents and a HUGE smile all day.  Who would of thought Mr. Scott would be the teary-eyed one?  The day was full with all kinds of traditions to mark their wedding day.  The ceremony was at St. Bonaventure in Huntington Beach.   Cocktails and the reception followed at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort.  During the reception, the bride disappeared only to come back as Michaela Jackson (see the video link below).  A fun filled day and wonderful to work with Linda Foeldi of My Bridal Assistant, Joel Stanton of Pristine Visual (video is at htttp://vimeo/6045434 then the password is anderson0809).  Special thanks to Vanessa Rockafellow at the Hilton Watherfront Beach Resort and Denise Empey who did makeup for the bridal party.

Cathy and Ray October 10, 2009

Spectacular Wedding! Cathy and Ray picked one of the most beautiful places ever for their wedding ceremony.  The church is The Mission San Luis Rey near Oceanside. Ray has a huge family and with all of their friends, the guest list stood at 456! The couple’s wedding marked a big day for both the Avenatti and Nanadiego families, having watched the love between Cathy and Ray span across oceans. Ray spent nearly a year in Australia right after they started dating!  So, when it looked like this was going to be a lifelong match, Ray sent for his American and his Australian priests to bless the marriage. Here are some quick peeks at the ceremony to debut my new KendraWeddings blog.
